Interact and EarlyAct Clubs sponsored by the Oak Forest Rotary Club combine to present the:



Feeding Children Worldwide Project completed at G. Kerkstra School in Oak Forest, May 29, 2007

(3,456 meals packed)



EarlyAct Club Students from G. Kekstra and Ridge schools assisted by Oak Forest High School Interact Club students packed 3,456 in an hour and 45 minutes. Faculty sponsor, Joe Stazzone from Kerkstra helped Eldon Tracy and his wife, Twyla, from FCW with the overall supervision of the project. Eldon is the founder of the program and a member of the Chicago O’Hare Rotary Club.



Faculty sponsor, Brian McDonough brought students from the Interact Club at Oak Forest High to assist. Our French Exchange student Sophie Mahoungou, and our outbound student, Shanda Gilligan, an Interact member assisted in the packing of the food.



Carmela Baniewicz the faculty sponsor of the Ridge School EarlyAct Club and some of her kindergarten students from across the street assisted and wrote notes to be included in the 16 large boxes of food to be shipped.



The meals were measured, mixed, weighed and heat sealed, by the students, six meals to a bag and will be shipped to orphanages in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.



A special thank you is extended to Kerkstra School Principal, Dr. Lori Wazny for helping organize this and the two previous FCW projects.
