Dear Donors,
As many of you know, torrential rains hit the greater Houston area the last part of June. At our warehouse in South Houston, we received 14" of rain. Thankfully, the building was spared.
During the time I was picking up groceries and had to drive through a flooded area I encountered some children who came out from between two vehicles and dove into the water in front of the truck. I stopped suddenly and water splashed upon the grill. The turbo intakes are in the grill and they sucked water into the engine, doing major damage.
Today I settled with the insurance company. They totaled the truck and paid of the loan. I was able to buy back the truck and have engaged a diesel mechanic to do the repairs needed. The cost of the restoring the truck is going to be about $6,000.00. Because of increased fuel and utility costs the ministry at this time needs help in offsetting this extra cost. If we can do this repair without a new loan, we can use this truck for the next few years without a monthly loan payment. That would free up $500 a month for increased fuel bills.
This 24' box truck is an integral part of our daily operations. Where you know God has blessed us yearly with over 200 million lbs of food each year. The repair will be completed in about two weeks. So we have two weeks to raise the funds, your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance. May God bless your generosity.
